The 4 Biggest Video Games Coming in 2023

Whether you’re an avid Twitch streamer or enjoy the occasional post-work gaming session to decompress, gaming is a pastime enjoyed by all ages. Almost 50 percent of all gamers are between the ages of 18-44, which means video game creation has become an extremely profitable industry, and the software quality just keeps getting better and better as a result.

2022 was a thrilling year of game releases, from George R.R. Martin and FromSoftware’s Elden Ring, to Borderlands series spinoff Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, to exciting indie masterpiece Stray, Horizon Forbidden West, and much more. It’s safe to say that 2022 was a pivotal year, marking a new era of gameplay and digital world building. But the thrilling adventures have only just begun. Here are some of the biggest video game releases coming to 2023 that you won’t want to miss.

Hogwarts Legacy

This is perhaps the most exciting video game release in over a decade and has the gaming community seriously hyped up – for good reason. Releasing February 2023, Warner Bros.’ Hogwarts Legacy takes the user back to the world first introduced in the Harry Potter Books. The character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart and has to go through classic “Hogwarts” experiences like being sorted into a house and using the original spells that made us fall in love with the books in the first place. With an immersive, open-world action RPG and some of the most stunning graphics and world-building, this game is truly an experience to enjoy. So grab your wand, robes, and a pint of Butterbeer and get ready for the magical adventure of a lifetime.

Rooted

Welcome to post-apocalyptic world Rooted. The year is 2100 and you’re one of the remaining survivors of the bacteriological warfare that struck humanity. You must progress and adapt through the ruins of the past civilization, develop your camp, and trailblaze the terrain that nature has reclaimed. Watch your surroundings carefully. It won’t be easy, as the danger has many faces.

This solo or multiplayer indie game may not be as well known yet, but we think everyone will be playing it. Powered by Unreal Engine 5 and showcasing some of the most stunning graphics we’ve ever seen, this is sure to be an adventure that both delights and pleasantly surprises the player.

Dead Space (Remake)

Coming January 27, 2023, Dead Space is the survival horror game remake the world has been waiting for since the thrilling first release in 2008. Featuring actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars, Electronic Arts is set to take the video game world by storm with this chilling, single-player masterpiece. With the same plot as the original, the story follows engineer Isaac Clarke, a crewman assigned to a massive planetary mining ship that’s gone silent. The vessel’s crew has been attacked by mutated corpses and Isaac is forced to fend for himself as he tries to save his surviving crewmates and learn the truth behind the devastated mining ship.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

The legendary Ubisoft franchise that has been a part of households since 2007 is back with its best release yet. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set in ninth-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age. The story follows Basim Ibn Ishaq – a character first introduced in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – and his transition from street thief to a fully-fledged member of the Assassin Brotherhood. Viewed as a return to the series’ original roots, this is slated to be the game Assassin’s Creed fans have been waiting for with the best storyline and graphic design team yet.
