Most Frequently Asked Questions About 5G Home Internet

How long will the Internet Gateway take to set up?
The start-up process will take about 5 minutes and if you’ve chosen a location with a strong 5G signal, that’ll be all you need before connecting your devices. If you need to test out other locations, you may need to repeat the process 2 or 3 times.

What if I can’t find a good 5G signal?
If you don’t have a good 5G signal, the Internet Gateway will display a red light after the initial 5-minute start-up. If this happens, you’ll unplug it and move it to a new location. If you’re still not getting a good signal, My Verizon app will help you find one, and if you’d rather speak to someone, it can connect you with an expert. The Internet Gateway will settle on a solid white light when the 5G signal is good.

What will I need to set up the Internet Gateway?
Everything you’ll need will be in the box, including a setup guide. Additional step-by-step instructions will be available in My Verizon app.

Where should I set up the Internet Gateway?
Signals are strongest when they’re unobstructed by walls, furniture or other objects, so set up the Internet Gateway near a window or an exterior-facing wall. Make sure there’s a power outlet nearby, and that it’s away from any water source.
