The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable iPhone: a 7.6″ Super Retina XDR display that folds down to a 5.4″ phone you can work one-handed. Two displays, two batteries and a Grade 5 titanium hinge make it the most versatile iPhone Apple has built.
Answer a message on the 5.4″ outer display without unfolding, then open it up to a 7.6″ canvas for a spreadsheet, a map or a movie. Apple describes the inner display as 50 percent larger than iPhone 18 Pro Max. Both are Super Retina XDR with ProMotion up to 120Hz and up to 3000 nits peak brightness, and the inner display carries a nano-texture finish that cuts glare. The hinge is balanced enough to hold the phone part-open on a table.
Frame a shot on the big display while the person in front of you watches the preview on the outer one — Apple calls it Duo Preview. The 48MP Dual Fusion system pairs a 48MP Main with a 48MP Ultra Wide, shoots 4K at 120 fps and gives you 2x optical zoom. Smart Take, Kid Cue and Duo FaceTime use both screens together, and the 12MP Center Stage front camera works alongside an under-display FaceTime camera on the inner screen.
A folding iPhone asks more of its silicon, so the iPhone Duo runs the A20 Pro with a Dual 16-core Neural Engine and a 6-core CPU that Apple rates up to 20 percent faster than A19 Pro. A dual-battery system, designed iPhone-first, delivers up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display and up to 44 hours on the outer one by Apple’s figures. Fast wired charging reaches about 50 percent in around 20 minutes.
The frame and hinge cover are Grade 5 titanium, the front and back are Ceramic Shield, and the whole phone is IP68 rated for water and dust. Touch ID moves into the side button, which suits a phone you pick up folded. The iPhone Duo is eSIM-only worldwide, so activation happens digitally — something worth doing with someone at a counter rather than alone at your kitchen table.
